MOTS-c

Overview

MOTS-c is encoded by mitochondrial DNA rather than the cell nucleus, making it part of a newer class of “mitochondrial-derived peptides.” It’s studied for activating some of the same cellular pathways triggered by exercise, which has driven interest in it for metabolic health and longevity research.
