Tirzepatide
Overview
Tirzepatide acts on two hormone receptors, GLP-1 and GIP, rather than one, which is the main mechanism that sets it apart from semaglutide. Both receptors play a role in appetite regulation and insulin response. Head-to-head trial data has generally shown a somewhat stronger effect from the dual-receptor approach, though individual response varies.
