Reading an independent laboratory report
PepLytics Verify is designed to surface documentation exactly as an independent lab reported it, without reinterpreting or scoring it. This page explains the terms that show up on that documentation, so a report is something you can actually read, not just glance at.
- Independent laboratory
- A lab with no ownership, financial, or operational relationship to PepLytics or to the source of the material being tested. PepLytics does not operate or own a testing lab.
- Identity confirmation
- Analytical testing (typically mass spectrometry) confirming the tested sample matches the expected peptide sequence, distinguishing it from a different or contaminating compound.
- Purity
- The proportion of the sample made up of the intended peptide itself, as opposed to degradation products, synthesis byproducts, or other impurities, usually expressed as a percentage.
- Net peptide content
- The actual peptide mass in a vial once water, salts, and counter-ions are accounted for — often meaningfully lower than the gross powder weight, which is why it's reported separately from purity.
- Lot / batch number
- An identifier tied to one specific manufacturing run. A report for one lot says nothing about a different lot of the same product, even from the same source.
What this documentation does not do
- It does not certify a compound is safe for human use
- It does not evaluate or recommend a dose
- It is not issued, scored, or interpreted by PepLytics
- It applies only to the specific lot tested, not a product line
